SILVER SKATE  Hawrelak Park Fri 6-10pm February 19th to 21st, 2010 - Sat & Sun 10am-9pm Take part in the 20th Anniversary celebration of Silver Skate Festival on February 19, 20 & 21, 2010.
Rooted in the Dutch tradition of the love of the outdoors, the Silver Skate Festival is a unique blend of sports, recreation, arts and culture, set in picturesque Hawrelak Park. Enjoy three evenings of Night Works in the Park, the 4th Annual Cessco Snow Sculpture Competition, Long Blade Skate Marathons and the Edmonton Winter Triathlon. Free public programming from noon - 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday includes sleigh rides, free skate, ski and snowshoe rentals.

A multimedia extravaganza that features a Giant Snow Screen,
and three evenings of entertainment including video, theatre, music and spectacles of light.
24 Hours to Ignition
Sat at 8:30 pm Burn With a handful of natural materials and just 24hrs, 7 Edmonton artists accept the challenge of creating art that comes alive when set ablaze! Prizes awarded Sunday afternoon.

Take part in a unique winter experience at the Aboriginal Winter Camp in Hawrelak Park. You’ll find a warm welcome as you visit the tipis, tents, and tupiq where stories, culture, and fun are all part of traditional winter spirit.
Around the central fire, you will find five shelters - the Elders Visiting Tipi, the Performance Tipi, an Inuit Tupic, the Heritage & Craft Tipi, and the Story-Telling Tipi.
Share the tea and the warmth of the fire, stories, culture and friendship.

New! Shuttle Service As the festival grows, parking at Hawrelak Park becomes limited. Be sure to catch the fun, and avoid the hassle of parking! Shuttle service is from 2 locations at the Uof A. Watch for Silver Skate Shuttle Signs. 1. Park at the Windsor Parkade (116 St - 92 Ave) for $5.00. Shuttle stop is at the northeast corner of car park 2. Take the LRT to the U of A station. Shuttle stop is at the west exit, Bus Stop 2363 Fare $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children. Cash fare only; ETS passes, tickets and transfers are not valid for payment on the shuttle.
