JANUARY 15 - 25, 2009 Weekdays 2 - 10 pm; Weekends 10 am - 10 pm 104 St & 85 Ave VISIT THE ICE ON WHYTE WEBSITE The sixth annual Ice on Whyte Festival returns to Old Strathcona January 15 – 25, 2009 and will again capture your imagination when art springs to life from frozen water. Teams of international artists will carve out their place in the NICA sanctioned Ice Carving Competition in Festival Park (104th Street & 85th Avenue) with creativity and ingenuity. The Ice on Whyte Festival is a community event presented by the Old Strathcona Business Association. The carving competition begins on January 15 and runs until noon on January 17. The festival park is open from 2 – 10 pm weekdays and 10 am – 10 pm on weekends. Activities include a 6 sided ice castle, ice slides, children's play area, the Van Houtte Café in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and an outstanding line up of local entertainment. You can be witness to this amazing art form for only a toonie, or by purchasing a 4-person pass for unlimited access for only $15.00.
